Import Duty?

    Hi All,
    Hopefully this is the right place for this...

    Anyway im going to order a Product from an American web site with value of about $350. Is there anyway of calculating import duty? Could it be seized or anything?? Sorry about the stupid questions :p (My first time ordering from America)

    It will likely be tapped for duty at god knows what rate and then 21% VAT added onto the total.

    The courier will demand you give it to them b4 they release the goods to you, they are an agent of the Revenue .

    Some stuff is not liable for duty but the VAT is pretty universal.

    How would i find out what the Duty is? Is it a set price? As in could i ring the revenue and ask 'em?
