    Hi,

For those of you that are unaware of the Legend that is American Chopper: The Series, I will enlighten you. For the rest of us that are educated about The O.C.C. Crew and the like, please, bare with me.

American Chopper is basically a reality TV show (your probably thinking "oh great!, yet another reality show", well your mistaken this one definitely stands out) that films the Day-to-Day running of The Teutul Family Business, Orange County Choppers (O.C.C.).

About 3 months ago I started to watch the show, and I am hooked. I find it fascinating how they turn such raw materials into brilliant works of art. Below are examples of what I am talking about:

    Black Widow Bike
    blackwidow_thumb.jpg

    Fire Bike
    fire-bike_thumb.jpg

    I, Robot Bike
    iRobot_thumb.jpg

There are many, many more bikes on the Orange County Website. Check them out!

The reason I am posting this thread is to see the level of interest in the show, Personally I love it and wonder if If you like or dislike American Chopper, please feel free to post a reply.

I've watched a good few episodes and really like it. Anyone know times of when its on etc. The episodes i've seen are more due to the fact of stumbling accross them.

It's on Discovery at about 6 in the evening I think. I've only seen a few episodes but it's well worth watching. I saw the one where they made that Black Widow bike, deadly.

If you wanna see one of there slicker creations, look at the I, Robot Bike above. That episode has yet to be shown here, but it looks to be a great edition to the show.

And as for the TV listings, Click Here.

    Thanks

Very cool show, Mikey's my new hero.

Oh and by the way, you're stealing bandwidth. Don't know how people feel about it around here, but generally thats a big no no.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,645 ✭✭✭Shrimp

Yeah, Mikey is a Legend!! Remember the picture he sketched of him on the bike with some hot girl, and then all the other girls that broke his heart in school chasing him. HaHa, Absolutely Halarious!

Also to daveJAM what do you mean... I am stealing bandwith, By what means?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 437 ✭✭daveJAM

    That pic was hilarious.

The pics of the bikes are hosted on the occ website. It's good etiquette to either rehost the images or just have a link instead of img tags. Dont know what the mods are like around here but on a lot of forums they'll slap you for it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,645 ✭✭✭Shrimp

I am unable to edit that post with the pic's in it, I donno why? Any suggestions :(

I think it would be cool to work in OCC, with Paulie, Paul Sr., Vinnie and the one and only Mikey!!! :D

    Those guys Rock! :):p:)

I watch it whenever its on , v.v.good :) And I have no interest in bikes !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,645 ✭✭✭Shrimp

Yeah, Thats the thing about the show, you don't have to have an interest in bikes. It's just great entertainment, BTW has anyone see the episode about the I,Robot Bike?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,481 ✭✭✭Blisterman

It's good, I like Pimp my ride too.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,259 ✭✭✭RicardoSmith

Has the episode with the I-Bike aired? I missed that. Looks a cool bike too.

    Great show.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,645 ✭✭✭Shrimp

I would defiantly prefer Orange County Choppers over West Cost Customs.

How about the rest of you?

West Cost Customs - odd name. What channel are they on?

ah. I wouldn't be fans of their stuff at all. Too Max power...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 302 ✭✭Grimlock

I love OCC, it's a really cool prog but has anyone else noticed how many times per episode they say: "But I gotta tell ya...........<some heroic feat which someone did>.............I was pretty damn impresssed."

Pimp my ride is ok, it is a bit max power, and exzbit *spelling* is annoying:
    and it gets kinda repetitive;
<head guy> "Wheels department what have you got for me?"
<wheels> "We're gonna put chrome man"
<head guy> "Paint department what have you got for me?"
<paint>"We're gonna put on special paint so it looks a different color when light shines on it"
<head guy> "Cool, interior department what have you got for me?"
    <token hispanic guy>"Tweed......."
    Yawn!!!
And every week they try to find an even dumber place to put a screen, and some dumb quirky thing to put in the car, fish tank, chandlier etc.

But for all my bitching if i'm flicking through channels & there's nothin else on i will watch it. ;-p

But Monster Garage, on discovery, turn everyday vehicles into specialise vehicles, suv to bin-lorry, pick-up to fruit picker.........meh that show just doesn't appeal to me at all.

    </rant>

    lol its so true grimlock.

Btw, American Chopper will have some new episodes soon on discovery.

    dixie chopper episode 1 - sept 13th
    dixie chopper episode 2 - sept 20th

Really want to see the episode where they make the I, Robot bike. Wowsa.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,775 ✭✭✭Spacedog

this poll is biased! you called the thread American Chopper, thereby most people viewing it will be intrested in OCC and vote for it. All us pimp-daddies mightn't click on this thread. I demand a recount!

    I agree with JAM
Quit with the bandwidth stealing Dr. Phil.
Edit the message if you have to.

OCC is definitely on top of my list. The stuff Paul Sr. comes out with sometimes is hilarious. I don't like Paul Jr. though. He's quite the knob-head.

I try to catch the show on Discovery as often as possible but the're are a lot of repeats.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 319 ✭✭java

I love it. They make works of art. And the whole putting together process is fascinating. And I'm not a huge bike fan either. First time I saw it was a couple of months back when Discovery had an entire Sunday afternoon and evening of shows. I came across it by chance and have been hooked ever since. Senior is a legend.

Paul Senior: damn it Pauly, clean up this damn work area, I'm gettin' tired of tellin ya.
Pauly: But pops, I been workin' on this flying monkey bike all day...

" Come over here and turn arround, so I can hit you in the back of the head"
    Paul Snr.

The best Real tv that I have ever seen . and they are planing a chooper sunday in the next while showing a full 8 hours of the show so that you can catch up.
Plus if you do have the time and the Broadband they can be DLed from the discovery channel webby. http://www.discovery.com or http://www.discoverychannel.co.uk/_home/index.shtml

Thats a great quote.. another one of his was.

(saying this to the painter guy, they wanted something cool by a deadline..)

"You better surprise us, or we'll surprise you" - Paul Sr.

    Thanks just so slick...

    p.s. i hate this program...

thats too bad lazygit... I know that the format of the show can be a little annoying, and some of the arguing seems to be for the benefit of the folks in TV ladn, but those bikes are somethign else!
I'm a big fan of both WCC and OCC. The OCC more so bu a nose.
My gilfriend even bought me a PaulSr. nodder for chrimbo...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 414 ✭✭Uthur

That show is cool. Senior is a total d*ckhead though. The guys bust their
balls building the bikes. Senior does f*cking nothing except bitch about the
shop being messy. If I worked there I'd take a welding torch to him after
a while I reckon. Junior thinks he is god's gift to metalwork though as well - you can hardly blame
his dad for moaning about his attitude. Mikey is the only really cool member in that family I reckon.

    Uthur

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,441 ✭✭✭ando

yeah I love OCC aswell. Did anyone see this one were they take a break from building the bikes and installed a NOS kit on Pauly's new sports car? Sweeeet

    OCC_Nos.wmv

Vin is the soundest one of the lot Imo, Paul snr is a close second :D

West Coast Imo is getting better in their quality of cars, but the program itself is so repetitive/predictable ... the one line that gets me all the time is 'take a look at your car (name), cause this is the last time you'll ever see it like this'

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,645 ✭✭✭Shrimp

Cool.. didn;t see that, cheers for the pclip, where'd you get it?

Pimp my ride is definantly funnier, but OCC's work is of a MUCH higher standard than West Coast's. For all the "bling", WCC does a lot of MDF and hot glue work, compared to OCC's heavy metalwork.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 434 ✭✭Ruffty^

OCC, because Mad Mike from pimp my ride is a moron. If Paulie Senior ever met him he would stomp on him with his big boots and then everyone would discover mikes secret; which is, that he has a 15`LCD screen for a brain

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,645 ✭✭✭Shrimp

lol.. Mad Mike is a ledge.. he put flip down lcd screens everywhere:p

"We're gonna put a flip down screen *he does the flip down motion*...right here" - Mad Mike

I hate it...I've seen alot of episodes..Paulie and Mikey suck!

    what.. is a great show!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,416 ✭✭✭sonofenoch

It's back! 10 years later with a new show and still the same contrived shoite......money must have ran low after all the big multinational companies stopped asking for 'themed' bikes with their names on it because no tv show to errr show

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,454 ✭✭✭mloc123

I enjoyed the first episode back. Very few of the old faces left in OCC, even less in PJ designs. At least Mikey looks well, some of the last seasons were a journey through deep depression for him.
