BBC engineers have woken up!!

    4:3 Olympic feeds are being broadcast in... 4:3 format. Quite a logical decision you would think, but it took the BBC three years to realise this.

    Let's hope they do it with the football too from now on. Euro2004 was a farce as usual with the vertical black bars.

    Well the reason given for the vertical black bars in Euro2004, was the matches were in 4:3 while back in the studio was 16:9 so it saved changing.

    Indeed, but this time they finally decided that the actual sports footage is more important to people than the studio punditry, which is now also in 4:3, to save switching.
