Big dish or mini dish?

I have just moved house and inherited a 1.1m Triax dish and single LNB. The dish was originally pointing at Hotbird on 13e but I swung it around to get Astra for my Sky system. I am now getting about 90% for both signal & quality on Astra without even trying to fine tune it, which is pretty fantastic.

I am getting Sky+ at the weekend, which comes with a new mini dish and quad LNB so this dish is probably going to be redundant. I was wondering have I anything to gain from using this dish rather than the mini dish? I can’t really see any difference in picture quality compared with my old mini dish on the last house that had about 70% signal & 80% quality. I presume I am going to get the same sort of quality from a mini dish as almost every house on the road has one and they are all doing fine.

I guess fitting the quad LNB wont be a straightforward task on the Triax dish, so I am leaning towards just using the neater mini dish. What do you lot reckon?

If ya dont want it ill take it off yer hands for a small handling charge ;) Personally I would keep it. Motorise it and use it to pick up all manner of satellites! Much more interesting that sky!

you cannot use the quad lnb that comes with sky + as its specificially designed to work with a mindish so as Ronan says keep it for FTA or motorise it.
