Where are the best flea markets in Paris? I was there years ago and was at a fairly big flea market but im not sure where.

Can someone point me in the right direction please?

    Thanks

This may not be what your looking for because its fairly central but...

I stayed in the Latin Quarter and if you go:
past the Pantheon, away from Blvd. St. Michael
towards Rue Mouftard (sp?) and across towards the Paris Mosque...

there is a market there - at least I read about it and saw the canopies - thing is I never was there when it was open. There's a metro stop right at it but not on the Luxemburg RER line cos I never past through it. The area is supposed to be good for it but I've no idea about costs.

    Hope that helps. :)

Thanks Bri. That does help. I will check that out. The Flea markets are the equivalent to our car boot sales. I remember being at one in Paris and I think its either famous or well known - biggest flea market in Paris or something.

    Thanks again.

    No bother.

If your on the cheap - get the RER line down to Cite Universitaire...follow the crowds into the restaurant. It's college food but it's 3 courses and self-service. All for around 2-3euro! Brilliant for students.

    Enough from me... :)

The biggest in Paris, in France, in the World is the Marche aux Puces de Saint-Ouen.

    Well now....

There are 3 flea markets of the HUGE kind held every weekend just on the edges of Paris.

There's Saint-Ouen, probably the biggest where you can get mostly furniture and clothes. Get the metro to Porte de Clignancourt (purple line 4)

There's Porte de Vanves, only on weekends. Mostly trinkets and a much, much smaller market than Saint-Ouen, but not selling the same stuff and can sometimes be easier to walk around. get the metro to Porte de Vanves (line 13).

And lastly Les puces de Montreuil. Right by my place but mostly junk. Useful to find that bit of the washing machine that needs fixing. Lots of old clothes.
Get the green line 9 to Porte de Montreuil.
