Can anyone recommend one of the above in Galway for the coming weekend? Never been there and looking to book something - i'd prefer to go with someones advice on something reasonably priced...

Sorry I don't have any recos for you, but I just wanted to bump this to the top as I'm also looking for a reasonably priced hotel room or B&B for September.

    If anyone has any recommends...

The Connemara Coast isn't overly cheap but it's the right side of Galway to stay (no offence anyone on the Dublin-side) because of the view. They've a Canadian Hot-Tub outdoors that overlooks the bay and a very nice leisure centre.

They do offers in the paper from time to time too.

Yes would certainly agree with Bri, that the conneamara side is 100x better.
THe connemara coast hotel might be pricy but has good facilities.
On your way out there, you pass through 3 main villages, Barna(20 mins drive from galway), furbo and spiddal(conneamra coast near here)
I live in Barna and its a very nice place to stay or use as a base. It also has a reasonably priced hotel called The twelve pins hotel. Ive heard good reviews of it, although i heard talk that they are going to shut it down to revamp it. Accross the road from that is a fantastic restaurant/pub grub which has one many an award. Also, there are loads of B&Bs in the village too.
Furbo is a bit of a no mans village for tourists(No offence!)but you may find some cheap b&bs here.
Spiddall is very touristy so I presume whatever B&Bs are here they would be more expensive than barna or furbo. Both spidall is a nice village.

As for Galway city, there are lots of B&Bs, dont know any prices
Hotels, Great Southern and Radisson SAS(near train/bus station) are quite expensive i believe.
The Glenoaks hotel is a new hotel in the Rahoon/WestSide area. Excuse the snobbery, but this is generally viewed as a rough neighbourhood, so perhaps the prices would be lower in this hotel. Btw it looks very nice on the outside.
Also Salthill and the prom is just down the raod from this suburban area and the city centre is a stonesthrow away, so it could be ideal.
The galway bay hotel is overlopking the bay(obviously!) and it generally caters for the tourists, but watvh out they could be running a few deals in the papers.

Well thats my 2 cents worth. Hope this helps :D

Just back from a weekend in Galway, stayed in the Clybaun hotel, it's on the edge of the city, about 20mins on a bus (outside the door) or €7 for a taxi.

Really nice hotel, fuppin excellent staff, good breakfast. Pool, gym etc as well. Free bbq and bouncy castle for the kids on the Saturday afternoon - but I don't think that's every Saturday. Big comfy beds.

Don't know what the rate is as we got a special
