I've been meaning to buy this for a long time, just wondering if anyone has purchased it and if so what they think of it?

    The tracks are:
    The Starting Gate
    The Good Ship Kangaroo
    The Clare Jig
    Arthur McBride
    Little Musgrave
    Vicar Street Reels (2004)
    The Blacksmith / Black Smithereens
    The Dark Slender Boy
    As Christy Roved Out
    As Andy Roved Out
    The Kildareman?s Fancy
    Raggle Taggle Gypsy
    The West Coast Of Clare

I haven't actually heard the cd itself but I saw parts of the video when they showed it on RTE. My uncle was at the gig they showed and he ranted and raved about it for weeks.

i have the dvd. Its quite good. worth buying. Christy gets on my nerves a bit during it though.

The version of 'The Blacksmith' is my favourite. Terrific players.

in my opinion anything with donal lunny is worth hearing.

The Blacksmith was my favourite too. I saw Andy Irvine and Donal Lunny do it in Vicar St. with their group Mozaik, great song.

I bought the CD and it is good. On thing is that if you have some of their older recordings, you will notice some differences in lyrics and the way tunes are played. For example there are a few notes different in the version of Tabhar Dom do Lamh, the piece at the end of the Raggle Taggle Gypsy, compared to the older version. It isn't much, but if you were used to the older recording, you would notice it. It is a great album and well worth getting if you are a Planxty fan, and even if you are just an Irish Music fan.
