    Hi,

Could anyone recommend a good meditation course in the Dublin area (preferably southside) ?

    Thanks :)

There are a number of publications out at present with full listings of night courses available in September. You'll definitely find something suitable in that. They have lots of Relaxation and Meditation type of courses.

    Google "relaxation response" (include quotes).

Meditation a la TM is easy to learn - there is no reason that you should pay through the nasal passage.

I did the one run by the Dublin Meditation Centre in Temple Bar a few years ago and found it good. It is run by a Buddhist group (Friends of the Western Buddhist Order)but perfect for non buddhists who want to learn the techniques. The first night was free to get an idea if you were really interested and I think it was five further nights. I cost about 60-80punts at the time.

Dublin Shambhala Centre, 19 Herbert Street, Dublin 2. www.shambhala.ie - offer an Open Night evening of mediation, its open to all, especially those who are new to meditation. The evening consists of 2 sessions of sitting meditation practice, one period of walking meditation, a short talk or a reading followed by discussion and tea.

Free of charge - however a suggested donation of Euros5.00, if you feel inspired.

From personal experience, it is wonderful place to explore the practice of mediation and meet and discuss questions about mediation.
