    I've decided to purchase a new system for gaming and for use with ProTools (the Digibox connected via a PCI card). I've been shopping around on Komplett.ie for parts etc, but wish to know from anyone (with experience of putting systems together) if the parts I'm toying with will be compatible. Also, if RAID is possible (would it benefit me to have RAID etc...)

    the parts(& their respective prices from komplett);

    AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 2.2 GHz Socket 939, 512KB cache, BOXED - 379

    MSI K8N NEO2 Platinum-54G Mainboard S939 nForce3 256GB,SATA,GbLAN,ATX,Dual-CH DDR - 152

    1Gb Ram 3200 DDR or higher - around 300

    2 x WD 8Mb cache 200Gb - 270 total

    graphics card - x800 or 6800 - around 400

    dvd - plextor 712 - 120

    Thermaltake Xaser V Black Damier V5000A Aluminium U/Power supply - around 175

    Any advise would be gratefully appreciated - especially if you've done this kinda thing before. I've done enough pondering over this, and now I'm sick of it. One must bite the bullet at some stage.

    i wouldnt buy ram from komplett id go to this place and get some pc 3500 or even 3700 with tight timings as the 64 bit cpus thrive on ram with nice tight timings like the mushkin stuff, its more expensive but worth it according to more than a few people round here
