I'm open to correction here, but AFAIK 128MB of GFX card RAM should be enough for most games.

The 128MB one is more expensive because it's an FX5700 as opposed to an FX5200. The 5700 has faster clock speeds, and would almost certainly be better at running modern games than the FX5200. The full specs are probably on the nVidia or Gainward websites.

Again, I might be wrong here, I'm not too up-to-date when it comes to graphics cards, my GeForce 4 Ti4200 is still good enough for me!

Have a look at some reviews at www.tomshardware.com before making up your mind.

For that price range then you should be looking at .......... http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=120318&cks=PRL

The 256mb Ram is useless on the cheaper cards, they will actually perform worse as its slower ram in some cases. 128mb is the size to look for. 256mb = marketing ploy.

The Nvidia cards arent great for the budget range, the Fx5200 is dreadfull, Fx5600 is crap, Fx5700 is an improvement but id still go with ATI.

The 9600pro is hard to beat in that price range.
