Basically the guy in the photo is visuallising himself making his perfect jump, just as he's about to take off.

I was thinking of calling it something like: "PMA( Positive Mental Attitude )"

For those interested it's an alpha blended composite of a burst of shots i took at the recent US Olympic Trials.

    Opinions?

I like the concept, very unique indeed.

The netting in the background takes alot of the focus of the athlete

    Good work

I like the concept of the picture but it's very confusing with a lot of space to distract the viewer. Could you crop tighter on the jump area and maybe make the jumper less transparent where he lands.

PMA is a good title by the way.

Thanks for the constructive comments. :)

I've cropped the pic and altered the opacity a little.
Tell me if you think it's any better.

Nice, the wider angle crop is better.
I've never had a digicam before so i'm not used to cropping photo's but i'll definitely have to experiment a bit more.

    Cheers,

Wide crops work for some subjects. The digital realm offers plent of scope for experimenting, you may have noticed I got rid of the yellow vest at the bottom left of the picture to remove the distraction - easy to do with digital !

I used to take pictures with 6x6 cm Medium Format on Mamiya and Kowa Supers, you were limited to 12 shots per roll and it was a pain re rolling the backs in daylight so you had to take your time and get your composition and exposures as near as dammit, the beauty of digital is that you don't suffer this limitation.

I actually hadn't noticed the bib colour change until you pointed it out. :D
I guess altering other stuff in that pic would be ok because it's obviously a digital composition and not pretending to be an unaltered photo.

you could probably do something interesting with the "difference" blend mode in photoshop... like desaturate or darken/lighten everything but the jumper. we could play with it a bit more if you provide the originals :)
