Temperature multicontrast developer?

A question for those still in the chemical age... the recommended temp for Agfa multicontrast B&W developer is 20 deg c. Does a lower temp just mean a longer time, or is there some lower limit like 15 or 10 below which quality suffers?

I've Googled for this and got the Agfa PDFs but nothing on variations.

    TIA

    Patrick
