    If I'm reading this article correctly, a method has been devised to extract hydrogen from ethanol, with very good efficency.

    From such a fuel cell, electicity cost would be low.

    What is unclear is whether the process costs more energy in total, then the energy it can potentially produce and the article isn't specific on total energy output versus total energy input.

    You heard it here first, hydrogen from an ethanol reaction.

    You can get algae that produce Hydrogen, the less steps the better.

    The article said you had to heat to 800C - that takes a lot of heat, though an effeicient counter current heat exchanger would help that but still a lot of heat. so not sure of how much of the energy in the maize gets converted into H2 - the bad news is all the rest of it goes to global warming
