Olympic Sports coverage

Just wondering with the olympics starting tonight who makes the decisions about what sports are shown. Is it down to each indivdual channel or are they all showing the same feed? For example if I'm looking for coverage of one particular event how can I find out when it will be shown on RTE/BBC I have consulted the RTE…

For example if I'm looking for coverage of one particular event how can I find out when it will be shown on RTE/BBC

I have consulted the RTE guide but details are sketchy to say the least. For example for saturday they mention swimming. Its hard to believe there are no other events on that day.

Go onto the official site http://www.athens2004.com/ and get details of when the event is on.
Then go onto the BBC TV Olympics coverage page of their site http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics_2004/tv_coverage/3840297.stm to see if they are showing it. As they have an interactive element for satellite viewers they will broadcast a lot of events live.
