    Singer songwriter *male or female* wanted for Dublin based band (able to play instrument a plus but not essential) *band aged 27ish*

    With the intention of what, exactly? Are you guys a backing band (e.g. rhythm section, etc.)?

    Or are you intent on forming a band *around* a singer / songwriter?

    I am a singer / song-writer who plays guitar and am learning piano. But I pretty much have the sound / style (hope that doesn't sound pretentious!) I'm looking for. Kind of 1920's, swingy / jazzy (but not showboaty!) sort of thing.

    I'm only 23 myself, but (and again, I hope this doesn't sound pompous) the tunes are probably a far cry from your "typical Dublin band", if there is such a thing...

    Well there you have it. I've probably managed to embarrass myself or bring other people to dislike me SOMEWHERE within this post :)

    We have more or less have a set but we are now looking to add vocals to the tracks. not too sure about the "1920's, swingy / jazzy sort of thing" sounds great but might not be quite what we are looking for.

    Ah, I see.

    Not trying to be sarcastic here, but maybe you should advertise for singer who can also write songs, as opposed to a singer / songwriter?

    I simply checked this post out cos I thought the title was kinda stange (not many bands would be looking for a singer / songwriter, it's normally the other way around).

    Anyway, good luck with the hunt!

    I'm dublin based, play guitar (electric & acoustic), sing & write, and am looking for a band to play with and write with (see my earlier posting "looking for band"). I like Neil Young too, other acts I like are Franz Ferdinand, REM, Al Green, the Grateful Dead, Pearl Jam, & the Beatles just to name a few. Let me know if you're interested...
