I'm going to a few gigs at Marlay park later this month with a group of about 7 or 8 people.
We're coming up from Cork and I just want to know what it the cheapest place to stay near Marlay park, it doesn't neccesarily even have to be near Marlay Park, it just has to be really cheap, because we're all pretty poor at the moment.

Davey we're in the same boat as you there's about 20 of us goin 2 the frames from cork. I reckon hostels are your best bet, try www.hostels-ireland.com good cheap n central, bout 20yoyo a night n sum places give you breakfast. One bit of advice tho dont book all 8 together, book in 2's or 3's instead some of these places aren't "big groups of drunken teenagers" friendly, cant really blame them can you tho. If that fails you could try student accomodation(ucd/dcu), when collages are closed they try n rent out the appartments on the cheap during summer months, its a bit more pricey n out of the way, but you more or less have the run of the place(these require a deposit tho n if your up for anybit of a good time dont expect it to be refunded). Well good luck any way n enjoy the gig!

I don;t know about price but there is Three Rock pub/hotel which is a 5 minute walk from the concert area in the park. There is a B&B near the park but I Can't for the life of me rember the name. It is accross the road from centra ballinteer if you ring them maybe the will tell you the name.
