    Was thinking of buyin a GeforceFX 5900 for running Doom3 and so on! have a Creative Geforce FX5600 Ultra at the moment and can run Far Cry and Doom 3 but a bit blocky! anyone have this card or wud I better getting the 9800pro? any advice peoples?

    You have an fx and you want to buy another one? Did you not learn your lesson the first time. :D

    Seriously though the 9800pro is a much better card but I'd imagine the 5900 might run doom3 better because it's open gl. Is it worth sacrificing every other game for one game that you probably won't be playing a couple of months down the line anyway.

    i read they are gonna start production of mainstream geforce 6 series with pixel shader 3 (i know that is does make any diff.) soon so i would wait. they will prob drive the 9800 pro lower and will prob be better.

    Vishal what are you talkiing about? The GeForce 6800's are already out and sm3 does make a difference although not a big one.

    The 9800pro is not going to come down in price anytime soon. You can pick one up for under 200 euro atm so they are cheap now.

    -edit- I'm not sure if vishal was talking about these but there are Nvidia 6600 cards coming out for about 200 euro or so that will be better than a 9800 pro.
