I really recommend Michael Mann's new film 'Collateral'. Will be released in Irish cinemas on September 17th.

It tells the story of Max (played by relative newcomer Jamie Foxx) who is a taxi driver who really dislikes his job and convinces himself his job is only part time and he's saving money to open his own business.

Max's night changes when he picks up mysterious but engaging Vincent (played by a grey haired Tom Cruise), a hitman who must make 5 hits during one night in Los Angeles. Max must figure out a way to save himself and one last victim. Mark Ruffalo plays the detective hunting the killer behind these hits.

Collateral is especially beautifully shot (75% of the film is shot on HD, 25% on 35mm film - adds a real grittiness to the film! Aerial shots look particularly amazing!). It is easily Michael Mann's best film since Heat.

One definantly i'd advise to check out when it hits Irish shores!

i've heard good things about it. saw the teaser way back when it came out months ago. looks really good. it hasn't gotten the huge opening they expected in the US but that's typical of tom cruise movies...
