I bought some of these from pricestorm for use with my NEC 2510A burner. Burned great 100% of the time so far, and the dvd's that I've backed up seem to be playing great on a variety of players (in my house of course. :D ), anyway, is there a point in changing to the better quality ones like datawrite, or just leave well enough alone?

IMHO Bulkpaqs are fine for XBOX games, but crap for films unless you shrink the film you want to burn to 4.3Gb or less. The new yellow Datawrites are cheap and use Ritek dye, so they might be an idea alright...

Ah i did a good load of research into this and the best for me have been Ritek orange G-04 dye, I put alot of nerding into this and they are the best.

good deal on them recently at overclockers.co.uk, i think a 10er for a 25 spindle.

    hmmm

My advice would be to limit yourself to 4x with those disks. Don't even think about 8x. Although it looks like you are just using the standard firmware.

You should try herries firmware. www.rpc1.org

I was going to upgrade the firmware all right, but I built my rig without a floppy, and haven't been able to creat a dos cd yet...
