Any sign of Celtic TV coming to NTL?

Just wondering if anyone has heard anything about a carriage deal for Celtic TV on NTL Ireland? I rang their customer support team to enquire yesterday, but they don't seem to have any information as yet. With Setanta being behind it, I wonder if it would be safe to say that a carriage deal will be on the cards?

    Thanks...
    Ciaran

would there be much demand for the channel considering a lot of celtic games will be live on a basic channel anyway?

I don't suppose there'd be a lot, but then again, Celtic's support is only perhaps outnumbered in Ireland by that of Man United (if it is at all for that matter), and MUTV is available on NTL, even though it only screens delayed coverage of premiership matches...

When the channel launched, I thought I'd never subscribe to a silly club channel like that, and when I rang to enquire about the subscription rates on Sky, I thought I definitely wouldn't!

The cost per month is £6.99 (probably just over the €10 mark), but a 12-month contract must be signed upon initial subscription. Isn't this totally ridiculous? especially for a stand-alone channel...

Does anyone here subscribe to MUTV? If so, does the same yearly contract apply - either on NTL or Sky?

I got an email from Niall Cogley - Head of Setanta Sports - who said "Celtic TV is not available on ntl - not yet anyway."

Don't know what to read into that

They'll probably try to get a deal sorted at some stage, carriage for Setanta Sports Ireland on Sky Digital will no doubt be their main concern at the moment. I'm lucky enough to have Sky as well, but don't really want to get it through that as I'll end up using tonnes of remotes!!

The demand for these team channels never ceases to amaze me. I doubt if the Celtic or Rangers channels would be FTA on NTL more likely to be a PPV offering. All these teams are hungry for the money!
