    Really overpriced.

Dell's are built with the cheapest components they can find at the time.
512mb RAM is the bare minimum for a Gaming system. For that money I
    would expect at least 1GB.
GFX 128mb card? Gimme a break.

Build your own. It's not as hard as people think.

Dell sell to morons who believe the advertising instead of spending an hour googling.

There are oooooooodles of sites out there documenting every new bit of hardware specifically to help you make an informed decision.

Have a look at this then.

You will need to get another 512mb of memory and a monitor but 300 should cover that.

You won't find better than that anywhere else.

Dell are loaded ;) They sell to people that are only interested in using Word, Excel and the occasional game. They are gunning for that end of the market. I had 2 dells, no problems ever with them. They are overpriced even though i got several better parts that i didnt order, free delivery and a huge discount but I wont be buying them anymore though since i can build my own.

Right, am gonna buy the various bits n pieces from Komplett. Any suggestions as to an uber set up please let me know  No need for monitor or dvd burner or the like, just the main rig ie. m/b, ram, h/d, graphics card, case, psu, soundcard. Not into all those flashy lights and mods either.

Id buy off www.overclockers.co.uk I used komplett for a long time but I found their selection limited and dearer over time. Then I switched to overclockers and they are very good. Great Selection of equipment, everything you'll need.

As i said already have a look at this.

Get another 512mb's of ram and it comes to about 1300 total.

You would not build the same system cheaper from komplett.

Just beware that the operating system and keyboard will be in German. Apparently you can legitemately install an English version of XP using the same key without any problems.

If you compare a customised top spec Dimension with a top spec xps the price is cheaper for a better spec Dimension all your getting with an xps is a fancy box.....oh and like a name soooo trendy "xps"....
