I’ve talked to this girl over the net for over a year and a half and I suppose we have become close and there is a trust in it that I do not feel with most other people. She is a somewhat fragile person (depression/in and out of various places etc). She came back from a relaxation centre place and we talked online and we were making arrangements to meet (she pushed for it while I was nervous enough about the whole idea) and anyhow that was 6 weeks ago. I haven’t spoken to her since, she talked of having achieved a temporary happiness when we last spoke, we would normally communicate at least once a week by email or something else. I have gone over the whole thing in my mind and I don’t think she stopped talking to me because of me for the last conversation was positive and there was no hint of anything between us being wrong. I do not like to think of her as dead but I’m going to leave it say 8-10 more weeks and than check death certs/old papers etc for any death notices. I only ever had her name/picture and such because the last time she gave out personal info to a internet person he went whackjob. For this reason I would not to contact her family in any way shape or form.

I want to ask, does this to you seem like overall a good idea and reaction to the situation ?
