    hey guys!

so after some researching, I narrowed down to 2 isps, Digiweb and IBB

can you guys help me with some things?

First of all I'm going with these packages:
    digiweb business enhanced - 1meg/256kb
    IBB - breeze plus - 512/512 8:1

    1. can you(IBB and Digiweb users) please post your pings? www.boards.ie

    2. who do you think will throthel(if they will, they both told me, they won't) the least? IBB or Digiweb?

    3. who has better service? least down times?

    4. which ones keeps their speeds at the levels they should be? in other words , are your speeds constantly high? contention ratio?

    5. which one would you go with, why?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

apparently IBB offer has recently changed and Home Breeze Plus does not exist anymore. Checke their website for the new products!

    Bye.

You can now get Breeze 1mb Lite for 87.70 inc. vat (1024 Kbps, 20-1) or you can go to the business section and get Breeze 1mb for 40 ex. vat ( 1Mbps, 20 -1). Not sure the difference between the two products is or why the residential product is twice the price of the business produce when business customers get better equipment and priority. By the way for you go to the pricing pages on the IBB web site you get the old products and prices. Confusing!

Where are you that you can chose between them - as far as I know, IBB aren't available anywhere that Digiweb is, and vice-versa.

    It's Digiweb's DSL reseller jobbie.

I use IBB Breeze Plus 8/1 contention in Clondalkin.

These results are from late (after peak time) last night.

Downloading their 10Mb iso file (the one they use to test speeds within the IBB network) at 14K (TOTAL CRAP)

My pings just to my pop! on the SIAC building. (again same time late last night). Make note of maximum ping time!!

    Conclusion:
The Service - Crap to non-existent
    The Support - A very consistent non-existent.

I agree with Adey2002.I was with ibb off the siac tower in clondalkin for the last seven months.About a month ago i cancelled my contract.
My pings were always good , but d load speeds were brutal(anywhere between 40kb to 300kb).
Tech support was friendly but useless.
    I had breeze home 512 20:1
    absolutely terrible service.

CONMIKE, who are you with now? whats the alternative in Clondalkin?

adey,i took up the iol 3 month trial offer ,and after my torturous experiences with Ibb ,it is a breath of fresh air.
d load speeds are very consistent ,between 50 and 55KB...i'm always checking them...probably still paranoid after the other so called bb provider :D
Pings are good, although i've only checked them a couple of times(not a gamer).
So far,i'm really pleased with iol.I haven't had any problems.
I'm down here near the canal at the lough & quay pub and i have the option of eircom, iol and utv as far as i know. i presume you'd be the same.
Just hoping and waiting like many others that ntl will come a knockin' !

Ok guys, you convinced me, I'm going with digiweb, n1ck, I'm a heavy downloader, and an occasional gamer, speed and no cap are very important to me, but I do need average pings too!

the only fear(warez) I have is if digiweb will control my traffic?

Off the 3rock tower on homebreeze plus 512k 8:1.
    Ping statistics for 82.195.131.128:
    Packets: Sent = 36, Received = 36, Lost = 0 (0% loss)
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 12ms, Maximum = 64ms, Average = 31ms

Ripping download speeds, good pings, no complaints.

It's a real shame because when IBB actually works, it is perfect and well able for gaming that requires low pings. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be very often. I don't like slating Companies, I would much prefer to recommend them but in this case I cannot.

Yep-as you say when they are good they are very very good-im on breeze home plus and will go thru weeks of great speeds and low pings but last couple of weeks have been very poor :(

Well i have IOL at the moment and im am having terrible problems with regards to pings and downlaod speeds.

I have been mailing them back and forward and still nothing do about it.

I did have a great time at the start but then it got crap basically.
