    Hi,
I am "trying" to set up isdn for my brother, I have the isdn line got the modem all connected up ,the eircom account and I try to connect i get a error
( i think it is 691 error or somthing) When I contact eircom to find out what i have done wrong I am told to contact my ISP ..(and then well i have to hang up in cause i am on the ground holding my stomach ) And I can test the line with ISDN modem software and It passes but i still cannot connect to the eircom server .( i think off hand its 1893 number it dials out to and no he cant change to broadband its not AVAIALBE in the wilderness)

    can anyone help

    Thanks

Not sure what number you are trying but change it to 1892150150, that is the standard eircom dial-up number. You can use 'eircomnet' as the username and a blank password and it should work.

If he is going to be using it on a very regular basis then talk to eircom about buying bulk connection time. It can work out a lot cheaper. Take a look at http://autoreg.eircom.net/res_compare.html for price comparisons etc.

Also if using ISDN look at options to join the two lines on the dial-up connection properties. Costs twice as much (2 phone calls) but can get 128kb connection = twice as fast

can you get the isdn modem to dial a mobile - just to make sure that its actually dialing?
