Broadband options

Just bought a new house in Laois. No access to Eircom or Esat BT. Obviously no access to NTL and the likes. My only option seems to be Satellite.... Has anyone any experience of this method. It seems a pricey install and some options have crappy uploads. NH.

Would this be better served in net/comms/broadband?
I've always wondered by this forum uses "broadband" when it's really meant to focus on cable (ntl etc.). Perhaps there should be a Cable/MMDS only forum?
