Keloid Scars (sp?)

I got about three moles removed on my back a few months back.
It wasn't really for aesthetic reasons, just something not to worry about when I'm older. However, I have quite large ugly red lumps where the scars used be.

Apparently it's called keloid, not sure how it's spelt but I think it's when the wound doesn't properly attach under the skin and causes swelling. No health risk, just looks crap. I would have kept the damned moles if I'd known that would happen.

Injections with cotozone ? can be used to reduce the lumps.

Anybody else have any experience with this ?

    Thanks.

when i was about 12 i had a skin graft on my eardrum and the scar beside my ear grew into a keloid aswell, it looked awful (it looked like a slug) and my peers weren't too forgiving about it so i was pretty upset.

i was told i could eventually get plastic surgery or something to remove it but after a year or two it just went away. I'm aware this doesn't help as advice at all but mine just went away by itself (it's probably not worth mentioning that i pushed down on it constantly...while at the time i thought that's what had fixed it, looking back i can see it's probably a coincidence and i wouldn't recommend it in place of the proper surgery)

AFAIK, you can get a gel patch which will help reduce the scarring. I may be wrong, but I remember a friend who got raised scarring after putting her arm through a window who got one and it was quite effective...
