if i was to buy this mobo right, it says that it has 2 DDR channels, now does this mean that i can only get dual channel RAM or can i get just one stick of the stuff?

secondly, what type of RAM can i get ie. the stuff with the 2.5 CAS latency or can i get the stuff with the tighter timings like that Mushkin BH6 or whatever its called?

    any help greatly appreciated

Ok basically for dual DDR all you need is the same memory modules (offen you can run dual ddr if there even simular) . Ie you dont have to buy a silly dual channel memory pack.

A dual memory pack is basically just two sticks of the same memory ........ nothing special.

If you get a single stick of memory you can pop it in and run single channel DDR on the motherboard no probs. And then later on get another and run dual ddr if you want. (dual DDR means alot of extra bandwidth on Intel systems but not on AMD XP ones) .

CAS and other timings make no difference as to wheather it will work on the motherboard or not. The lower the CAS and other timings the better it performs......... the timings have nothing to do with compatability.

With the NF7-S dual DDR will give mabye 2-5% performance increase....... not really worth it IMO but if you have two memory sticks you might aswell use it.

    Hope this helps.
