Putting Together a Laptop

Has anyone custom built a mobile system from scratch here? I'm planning to do it in autumn, maybe make a mobile A64 system. But I'd like some advice first.

hmmm where would u get the parts ? ( id like to know also )im guessing it would definatly cost more then buying it from a manafacture

Iv seen websites that give you a guide to doing this. To be honest it would want to be a good bit cheaper to make me want to do this. You can buy stock laptops with everything you want and a decent warrenty at decent prices.

I can get the bits cheap. Earlier this year I went to malayasia and put together an athlon 64bit machine for half the price of what it might cost you over here. I'm planning on going back some time later this year. They have really good laptop shops over there too. But I'm a laptop n00b really.

Most branded laptops are manufactured by only 3 or 4 large OEM companies.. They sell the DIY kits as well..
