    Hey lads.

I was thinking about starting the aul rock climbing, but I don't know the first thing about it. It looks pretty cool and I was wondering if any of you knew of a good place to get started. Anywhere that offers an introductory course or something like that. Also if any of you could recommend some kind of club in the Dublin 6 area or something near there that'd be cool.

    Cheers.

The only place I know of is in UCD. There's the mountaineering club there with a dedicated climbing wall. I assume that it progresses to outdoor events at some point. They seem to be running beginners courses at the moment for €25 on Mondays, you have to book a place on it. Not sure if that is linked to the club. They might have info other places that do it.

The Irish Mountaineering Club do beginners courses in Dalkey, Dublin but I seem to remember you being from Cork. If memory serves then let us know what you find out in your part of the country.
