    here's my problem,
I was great friends with a guy we got on like a house on fire, it all went great up til the point where I snogged him. He had a girl friend at the time.
We really liked each other but I didn't want to go out with him, he decides we shouldn't snog again.
So we never snog each other again, and as soon as I get a boyfriend he practically breaks all contact with me.
    So what happened there?

I assume after you snogged you went back to being friends again? Unfortunately once you kissed platonic went out the window. It is very possible to revert back to it, but that underlying physical act will always be there.

Anyway, the fact that he has broken all contact suggests that he has some kind of feelings (beyond platonic) for you. Another idea is that sometimes it's nice to be able to flirt innocently with someone who is unattached (particularly a friend), when they are attached again (depending on the person) that particular thrill can be gone. So it takes a while to readjust.

Expanding on that he might think it inappropriate to be too friendly now that you have a boyfriend (considering the history). The fact that he cheated on his girlfriend with you doesn't mean he would mess with your relationship, sometimes we have strange codes of honour. Not that this is necessarily what he wants and yes, I know you're talking about just being friends again. He should come around eventually if he is a good friend, the perceived weirdness usually wears off given time.

If push comes to shove you could always have a word with him (over a few pints and just as he lets his barriers down hit him with it).

exactly what elexes said: ask him to come out and meet the boyfriend... maybe he's just trying to give you space, maybe he's jealous, maybe he's just busy himself at the moment.

Is he not returning calls? Hanging up on you? etc? Or has he just not called you?

There could be a million things going on there so I wouldn't worry about anything just yet.
