Average salary/wage for different careers

Is there any website showing the average salary/wage for different jobs/careers and experience levels in Ireland?

Also are there any jobs you know of that apparently pay huge wages. I say apparently as I know a few people who's "mate's mate" have these amazing wages for pretty non-skilled jobs. I just find it hard to believe that an employer would find it so hard to find somebody that they would have to pay these huge wages.

I have heard of brick-layers making more than pilots or brain-surgeons. Other jobs I have heard of are train drivers, train security, gardening.

That should help you.... but not comprehensive. I know there are (v. good) set rates for many manual labour jobs such as brickies, sparkies etc but as to where a list is??

The construction industry has its own set rates for various trades, AFAIK the
Construction Industry Federation (CIF) has set rates out on this every year
and all registered tradesmen are sent out details on this..

Obviously these will vary in different locations as supply and demand will be
    factors here..

As for other jobs, its not just the known skillset that contributes to payrises
within a company, loyaly, workload completed, inititive shown etc all
contribute... just because you know how to do something and do it, doesnt
mean that you do it well.. although this tends to work more in small
companies than in multinationals, where the senior management can see what
an individual is doing moreso in a small company than a bigger one...

I know a guy who got a 20% payrise from a company he works for and it
seems that he got it because he does the work assigned and more and all his
work is top notch and his loyalty to the company is second to none.. for an
employer im sure thats well worth having and paying a few quid for too..
