I'm about to buy some ram, I have Athlon xp2000+, that runs at 266, and a mobo that supports max of 266mhz, later I'm planning to upgrade to athlon 333mhz(thourghbred right?),

so Instead of buying 266mhz ram, I'm thinking of buying 333mhz now, so later when I upgrade I will already have ram for it!

    I have K7S5A board,

will 333mhz work with it? it is backwards compatible with 266mhz?

    Thanks!

Just wanna check but... You realise it's nothing to do with your processor, right? If you install a 333 Athlon on that motherboard your ram will still run at 266. Reason being the motherboard only supports 266 (fastest) ram.

The 266 and 333 in the Athlons refers to FSB - Front Side Bus.
