Two buses again- but a little more direct- 25/66/67 to Liffey Valley and there is a bus there that nips across- bugger- can't remember the number......

You know- might be worthwhile trying a carpool or something- its probably your best bet. (or bribing someone who does drive the route- there is a section in the back of the Lucan Newsletter where people sometimes put wanted notices for work lifts etc)

    A) There is a private bus company that runs a lucan-clondalkin-tallaght service (I think) along the M50. I don't know who it is but I think they have bus stops in Lucan village.

    B) This should be in Commuting/Transport or After Hours. Mods: please move it.

There's a 76 and 76B - don't know if they're any use - never got either so I don't know the exact route or time/frequency. I'm sure there's info on the DB site.

These are the types of routes that Dublin Bus should be running. More direct routes would take the pressure off buses heading in and out of the city. They may get an extra fare by you having to go into town and back rather than direct, but with the more direct routes there, more people would use them and it would reduce the pressure on the citybound routes. It doesn't take much imagination to come up with some of these type of routes, but then this is Dublin Bus we are talking about. There is nothing worse than having to go into town to get out to a place that probably wasn't that far away to begin with. There are loads of innovative routes like that that could be created. They might need some more buses to do it, but the reduction of people going into the city in order to go out, might free up some of the buses required.

is a private bus route lucan - parkwest
may be of some use, dont know how far cookstown is from parkwest.

I thought someone did a similar route that went as far as tallaght but my memory may be faulty.

I am commuting every day - I bus it (25/66/67)-(65B/77) in the morning and then am very fortunate that a kind friend in work gives me a lift in the evening...is best to see if someone can give her a lift.

Is it quicker to go all the way into town rather than get the 76/76A/76B from the West County Hotel?

I suppose that 25/66/67 to Heuston and Luas to Cookstown/Tallaght will be another option in a few months.

Dublin Bus are under ministerial order to not open any new routes.

heya the best way is to go into the city centre and get one of the following buses, 49,77,77A,50,54A.56A,65B,65. The Luas will go right by cookstown industrial estate when its opened.Getting there direct will require a lot of walking and the 76 buses are not very frequent
