I've just received 4 Text Messages from "mms-store" in the last couple of minutes. The first Text just said....
You now have an Meteor Store account.

    The following 3 said...
    You've received a mms from 35385XXXXXXX

    Access it at
    http://mms.meteor.ie/mms

So I went to the website and the login failed.

So I rang the 085 number that was in the body of the text thinking that it was maybe a friend sending me a picture message but some girl answered whose voice I didn't know so it wasn't somebody that I knew.

Just wondering if anybody else got a message? I'm with Vodafone btw.

This happens if somebody sends you a Multi Media Message(MMS) from a Meteor phone and your phone is not setup to accept Multi Media Messages. Meteor set you up with an online account where you can view MMS' sent to you from a Meteor customer. Ring vodafone and get your phone enabled so that it can receive MMS' and the next time a friend sends you an MMS, it will be delivered to your phone as opposed to Meteor's mms Store

That's the thing, my phone is set up to receive MMS'
I have a Sharp GX10 and I've recieved loads of MMS' before.
The thing is though, I don't recognise the 085 number and why would the message be sent 3 times.

Have you ever received MMS' from friends on the meteor network? You are probably able to receive MMS' from people on the vodafone network. Sometimes there is compatability issues between networks.
I suggest ringing vodafone and getting them to re-send you the MMS settings to your phone (as these may have been updated since you first got your phone) and while your on to them to check that your enabled to receive MMS messages from different networks

you could only send / receive MMS messages cross network between Vodafone and O2, but not Meteor, at least I hadn't heard that situation had changed yet, although they are supposed to be working on it...

Found out what it was. I was speaking to a mate last night and he told me that he got his girlfriend a picture phone for her birthday last month and that he tried to send me a couple of pics and apparantly as said already you can't send MMS' from Meteor to other networks, which in fairness is a bit pointless imo. It's hard enough trying to send pics to friends that even have a picture phone let alone trying to make sure that you're on the same network!!
