I was looking around at different prices for memory cards this week for my digital camera.

I found that Pixels on Liffey St, across from Arnotts had the best prices. I found a 128MB Fuji SD card for E45. Then to my joy, I saw that all memory cards were 20% off. I got the card for E36, less than most other places were selling the 64MB ones. I bought 2 at that price!

Pricestorm and 7dayshop have excellent prices for sd/mmc cards, similar (maybe a bit cheaper) than pixels but indeed for a street retail outlet it's a good buy!

    It is what it's.

They offer free delivery to 'eire' because they are based in Celbridge, Co. Kildare. :D 32 Euro for a 128 Mb SD card, including delivery.

    Website

I've ordered off them before and found them brilliant, they even take Laser card.

does anyone know what if any difference there is between xd cards and other sd or mmc cards.?

The primary difference is the size/shape of the cards
The core technology inside is the same

SD is more recent than MMC; it's the same size but slightly thicker and with more pins. Almost always you can use MMC cards in an SD slot (but not the other way around). xD cards are newer and smaller still but a completely different format and incompatible with SD/MMC. So which to go for depends on what your camera supports. Sometimes you will get MMC cheaper than SD, but it also tends to be slower I believe.

SD/MMC have far wider use than xD which is basically a Fuji/Olympus only format.
