Have a problem with my Creative MuVo TX mp3 player.

It says "File System Error" when I try to play it, and when its in the pc it comes up as a drive but I can't access it or format. I installed the player recovery thing, but it either didn't work, or I don't know how to access it properly.

    Anyone any ideas?

The player recovery thing should work. I have the muvo nx (and used to have the non-nx one) and i think i got that error once. Just ran that software to reformat the player and it worked. Hold down the play button on the MuVo while inserting it into the USB slot. Keep holding the play button for 5 to 10 seconds. Allow the PC 30-60 seconds to detect the device then run the format utility.

If that doesnt work then its possible the muvo might be damaged. Did it ever work? Try not to yank it out of the computer while its still using it, you should always use the 'safely remove hardware' option that shows up in your system tray when a removeable device is plugged in. You can damage the flash memory on one of those devices if its pulled out too soon.

Aye, I held down the play button and all that jazz. The pc detected it as a player recovery device and installed the drivers autocmatically, but that was it. Is there a programme or something you have to run? I couldn't find any.

Much appreciated. I'll try it when I get home.

I probably have the muvo nx software lying around somewhere, might be able to send it on to you if you cant find yours. Should work on the tx, its basically the same architecture with a radio bolted on.
