why is everyone into zeppelin strokes stones etc etc etc... ther only seems to be 2 or 3 areas of music that people are influenced by.. the bands a great in their own right but why don't people listen to something different thats a bit more challenging????

Also what do you guys think would be cool covers to do.. don't want any cowboys from hell by pantera answers. sure that shows that u are a **** hot band but its not for everyone.. good songs to cover???????

Hmmm... Novelty songs CAN be good, but sometimes they're really cliched. The Ghostbusters / A-Team themes being the most obvious. (Sorry Ferdi!)

Personally, I wouldn't do a novelty tune, but if you were to do one how about the them from Grange Hill? There's great actual music in that... :)

We're working on a cover of "Puttin' On The Ritz". And for the love of God and all that is holy, don't do a punk version of a tune that's very far from punk... Like "My Heart Will Go On" or something...

    Ughh.... ;)

I'd consider trying some soundtrack music. After all, it is about entertainment in the end

Actually, I couldn't agree more. I think many bands forget that they're supposed to be playing for the audience, not for themselves...

Heh, we were actually working on that Grange Hill tune the other day. We may be throwing it into the Boardstock set for the laugh. Great tune, very fun to play!!

I saw Delorentos doin a deadly coverr of Tiffany's "I think we're alone now". It Rocked so it did. I reckon a punk rock version of the Bosco theme tune would go down well :)

It's great to see a band on stage doing their own thing, but you need a bit of a change or a bit of sillyness now and again. Instead of the usual break to cover a Zep song, or a Rage song, why not burst into a rousing version of Bob the Builder? It's bound to get a laugh anyway.

If you can make the novelty song sound good then it should be all right, I know a band that does a killer version of the Animal Hospital theme tune.
