go to start -> run -> dxdiag ( your gonna have to type this in now ) -> press enter
first tab should tell you your cpu model and speed, also ram and direct x version
then a few tabes on will be your display or graphics specs

No you're not... You'll need at least a new graphics card.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,894 ✭✭✭evad_lhorg

    Minimum:
    P4 1.5Ghz CPU (or equivalent).
    384MB of RAM.
    64MB graphics card
2GB of free hard drive space.

Lowest supported GPU is a Geforce 4 MX (worse than Geforce 3).
    Supported cards:
    GF 4 MX.
    GF 3.
    GF 4.
    GF FX (and higher).
    Radeon 8500s, 9000s and higher.

thatrs the minimus. so can I not run it?

    GF 2 mx ain't supported

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,894 ✭✭✭evad_lhorg

serious? so even though I have a 64mb card I cant use the shaggin thing?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,219 ✭✭✭Redrocket

correct, you'll pick up a card that will play it for cheap money, BUT thats only to get a card that will play it, not a card that will make it look at run smooth

i doubt it because the mx range of the GF perform terribily in games even the GF 4 MX it won't run doom very well i'd imagine.

the best option for you is if you have about €200 lying around go out and get yourself a 9800pro. which should have no problems at running Doom3

If you're running Linux, you can get similar info from the file /proc/cpuinfo. just type `cat /proc/cpuinfo`.
