I've not read the book, but the film is ok. Ian McKellen is fantastic in it though.

It's definitely worth a look. I enjoyed it, though the book is better as is virtually always the case.

Yep Apt Pupil is a good watch. And as Karl says Ian McKellen is very very good in it.

Low point of the film is David Schwimmer's moustace !!! OUCH

I hear the ending is pants compared to the book.

Oh god... I think I had a mental block on images of David Schwimmer's Stache that you just broke! I hate you now, Gandalf!

Just watched it again (recorded off TV3 a month ago). One of the best movies I've ever watched. Its always on after 12:00AM though which it doesn't deserve.

    Highly recommended!

Unlike most "Apt Pupilers" I saw the movie first and only read the story later (which I loved - esp all the plotting and blackmail). I wasn't too impressed by the movie anyway but am going to give it another watch on the strength of the book.
