Sky or NTL, Who's best for sports?

I'm looking at getting sky sports for the coming footy season and wondering who's best (read cheapest). I have no interest in any of the other lifestyle/music/shopping channels, the only one I may be interested in is Paramount for the comedy.
I'm guessing Sky would only make sense if I was to junk NTL altogether but as I have my broadband with them and have had no issues with them, I'll be keeping the basic tv deal so I can have my BB. I can find nothing on Sky's website about Irish pricing so it is just a guess.
    Opinions?

pricewise both are similar but Sky Digital has Sky Sports Xtra and Eurosport
NTL will have the Setanta Sports Channel in the basic package on analogue and digital while it looks like it will be a premium channel on Sky. so if you were to get Sky for the football and then you'll have the Setanta Sports Channel as part of your basic NTL subscription which will give you live premiership and SPL

    Hi milltown,

To get Sky Sports with Sky Digital you will have to pay €49 (see here), with ntl Digital you will pay €32.50 (€12 + €20.50) (see here)

However, you can't get the interactive services on ntl Digital that you do with Sky & Sky Sports Xtra isn't currently available on ntl yet either.

If you just want the normal Sky Sports 1, 2 & 3, I would personally go for ntl Digital seeing as you already have the basic analogue package & it'll be a lot cheaper.

i'd definitely go for Sky. The Sky interactive facilities are immeasurably superior.

The alternative to Sky have brutal customer services and pay per view on NTL is usually more expensive.
