I bought a sky plus box in form uk last week (have Uk sub and OLD pace dbox since i was living there until 3 yrs ago). Thought it would be nightmare getting card re-married and recording facilitties switched on.It was dead easy!

Only ONCE phone line mentioned and was told it "wasnt a problem) as I had not got tyhe box from Sky and wasnt having them install it. Lady asked if it was 2nd hand sky +box ( I said "yes") even though it was brand new.Prob bext to bring box in from Uk (same price on conversion anyway) as dealer said the source of the box can be traced by sky with serial numbers i.e. was it bought in Ireland but set upon a UK sub. I wasnt taking any chances anyway.Btw he said this when I phoned to say Id got the box and it was set up, so i t wasnt a sales ploy. Seems that SKy are less concerned about phone line connection now if u are an existin customer.

Hi I had the same experience before x-mas.Though I had to ring them 3 times to get the PVR switch on. Never mentioned phoneline. I've been customer since 2001.
