    Hey,

Ok so I've installed windows2k pro all over again. Tried to install Visual Studio.net all going well, asks for cd 2 which I put in. Doesnt work! The CD shows up in my computer

    But anyways thats not it!

So I went to connect my usb modem (adsl) to go download drivers n crap. Plug it in... doesnt power up! So I restart the computer and look at the modem and it powers up... phew! Windows starts to boot up. Once Windows has loaded the usb powers out!!! WHAT THE HELL!!??!?!?! Anyone have any idea? Its a fresh install!!! I'm going mad here

Oh well, just arranged for a nerdy techie friend to come around tomorrow. He can handle the damn thing before my brain explodes, or I shoot myself  .

Best to hand it over to someone else, methinks ?...

You shouldn't need drivers for a CD drive. Can you play music CD's or can you at least browse the CD contents?

CD drives are like floppies and hard-drives when it comes to drivers (i.e. not normally needed).
