I'm trying to find the best IRC Font, something easy on the eyes,

I use 10 point Verdana on a light grey background - really easy on the eyes

I rarely use a font that's "easy on the eyes" in IRC... usually have the window really tiny tucked into a corner of a very high res screen so I can get on with my work while it's running away. I usually use 6 or 7 point Terminal.

For a nicer experience, though, and when not working, I use something like 14-15 point Tahoma.

Proportional fonts on IRC are evil. Fixedsys is your friend, for smaller sizes something like "Small Fonts" is ideal at about 7 point.

Lucida Console is fairly nice if you want a fixed width font.
