The Hauppauge ones are the best by a long way in my opinion, have been using various ones for the last 5 years or so. As for output, dunno what input connectors there is on the GC, maybe someone else can help with that.
Fo specs on the various Hauppauge cards have a look at http://www.hauppauge.co.uk.

Have a weather station?, why not join the Ireland Weather Network - http://irelandweather.eu/

The Happ ones were being sold for very cheap in PC World a while back - I got mine for €50 and I'm very happy with it, the quality is fine. I think it can take s-cable (or something sounding like that) input; so check if the GC can output in that.

Dunno about GC but I used to connect my Playstation to a tv card in my pc easily enough using a composite video connection that was also used for connection to a light gun. Light gun games themselves don't really work on the pc tv card though cos of the different refresh rate on the pc monitor.

An S-video cable would give the best picture quality for your GC, though trying to find one in this country (as RGB SCART cables are better and much more common in Europe - only prob is TV cards don't have them) will be a challenge. Not like finding any GC perihperals is a challenge enough...

One other big problem I've experienced with TV cards is they don't seem to like 60Hz PAL signals (as opposed to the standard 50Hz) - which is what most GC games run at by default. You may have to play your games in crappy, slow, 50Hz, border-o-vision if you want to be able to play them on your PC...

Do most TV cards have RCA input capabilities? Also does anyone know if you can stream an input from a TV Card across the net? And finally can they eb used with Red Hat Linux sytems?

    1. No idea
    2. If you have the bandwidth, yes. Look up VideoLan.
    3. Hauppage cards definitely do.

I had a gamecube hooked up to my hauppage wintv card - no problem. Tv quality (ie not as sharp as a pc game) but perfectly playable. Was using the rf connector for the GC.

    3. yes linux will detect it as a standard tv card and itll work ull only need to install specific drivers if u want pve teletext etc

I have an ancient Hauppauge TV card, but its pretty crap - mono sound, no windows XP support, ****ty drivers in Win2k. When I had Win2k, i tried playing my PS2 through it - utterly **** image quality. They have apparently improved in recent years (as seen in this thread). I have a shiny new Leadtek one on its way to me from OCUK though :)
