    I got a new sim for free from vodafone in order to access all their fancy services, ach the *174# credit balance dealy doesn't work anymore. It used to with my old sim and the 6230, not with the new sim tho. the error message that comes up is Result unknown and a Stop sign. I tried the sim in a different phone and it works, any ideas how to switch it on on this phone?

    I believe that this is a known issue with the 6230 and I think it's the same with the 6220 but seeing as though Vodafone are only supporting it on Post-Pay, the *174# credit balance feature isn't required to work, as such. Vodafone were really pushing to release these Nokia WAP 2.0 phones so this really wasn't a major issue. It might be corrected in the near future but who knows?

    Ok, thanks Fidelis, no worries, do you think installing a firmware upgrade would do the trick, if I can find one.

    I noticed a similar thing happening with new phones on the o2 network. Everytime I or someone I know upgrades, it takes a while for the balance on screen to start working again. I would say give it a few days, and then call Vodafone and see what they say if its still not working. After all, a Nokia is a Nokia. If it works with any series 40/series 60 nokia available on rtg, there is no reason for it not to work with yours.

    I had the same problem on O2 about a year ago. Got a new sim card, my old one couldn't call any 087 numbers :confused:, and *100# didn't work . The phone said "Not done" (a Nokia 3310). It sorted itself out after a few days though.

    Give it some time, it should sort itself out.
