IPOD Beeping Noise

    Howdy Peeps,

    I have a 40gb IPod 3rd Gen, less than a year old, running version 2.2. I recently upgraded computers so moved all my music across, and had to build a new library so i restored the IPOD and updated the software. As the IPOD is updating it is Beeping every 2 seconds, I have never heard of this before and the HD seems to be louder than before, I have also reset the ipod to version 2.1 same problem, and I have used both OSX and XP systems still beeping. Just wondering if anyone here has heard of this or witnessed it first hand, and if so why is it beeping. I just hope the HD isn't knackered. Any help appreciated.

    sorry to say your ipod is fcked. same has happend to mine and its a replacement too. Its in the service box and inside the ups bag right now waiting to be picked up on monday. ring the apple helpline and hope your warranty isnt run out. Have a look on ipodlounge.com for any help but to make sure that its totally gone before you send it off reset it by pressing the pause and play buttons at once
    then i think you press the rewind,menu, fast forward and action button all at once....not the play button. think that it. should do a disk scan. if you get a check mark its all good if you get a sad ipod icon well then im afraid youre in the same boat as me
