Dunno if it would have enough clearance around the headphone jack if you tried to plug it into another device...

I just bought a fm transmitter last night for $21. The quality isn't the best but I'm still happy with it and it will work with everything. I listened to Seinfeld on the tv through my headphones!

I bought it in Virgin in USA. You might be able to orer from their website

To get surround sound you will have to run either a coxical cable or a optical cable. (assuming you have that on you pc). If you just have a standard output jack you will only get stereo sound.

You could do it wirelessly with some dodg y FM sender/reciver setup but quaility might not be up to much...

Been using one for a long time (mostly in the car),

the good: it's handy and plugs into the iPod snugly and works OK as long as you find your station and don't move around the country too much.

the bad: as above, once you are moving up the country, invariably your free station becomes interference with local stations so you have to tune it again, hard to do without stopping the car every 30 miles.

When its on form its really handy but I'd have a hard time recommending it for a car over a wired solution, in the house its handier to just get a phono lead.

And no, it has a connector that fits the iPod only so you can't use it with other devices, but its fairly cheap so if you have an iPod its worth a shot.

I got my Creative Zen hardwired directly to the car by Scan Sounds in Phisboro. The MP3 sits in the arm rest and the wires are buried into the back of the radio. Perfect sounds. I had the Belkin FM transmitter but the hiss when driving around drove me nuts
