Is OS X 10.3 worth getting?

    Hi Folks,

I am currently running OS 10.2.8 (as mentioned in another thread).

    I have a 12" Powerbook G4 which is I think 800MHz and has 640Mb RAM installed.

Is it worth upgrading to 10.3? Is it more stable? Is it a lot more demanding on resources?

    Cheers,

    Richard

Is it worth the €130 or whatever it costs? Depends on your financial circumstances i guess, but on technical reasons alone it is worth it. For exposé alone :)

Is it more stable? I believe so, I've not had it crash on me (with months between reboots).

Is it a lot more demanding on resources? No, it should be faster.

Thanks, Acous, I'll see how my finances go!

Isn't 10.4 (Tiger) just around the corner?

Tiger is "soon", but it's not yet being tested on the Customer Seed, as Jaguar and Panther were. In any case Panther is well worth having.

tiger is not going to be out for public in a long time.

10.3 will be a bit faster than 10.2 on your machine. try to get somewhere where there is 10.3 running and play with it for a while. if you like and think the new options are worth it, then get it. i personally think it is worth it.
