    Hi Friends,

    I would like to purchase NVIDIA graphics card from USA.
    Could you guys please suggest me a good one compatiable with LINUX ( DEBIAN in particular and rest of *NIX flavours).

    I don't play memory and graphics hungry games. But I would like to get a good one which is flexible.

    Only reason is I need it to be compatiable with DEBIAN.

    will be thankful for your suggestions and replies
    Cheers,
    RHN

    Well;
    I'd imagine compatibility wise they'd be no problem; as Nvidia themselves offer a generic Linux driver for both 32 and 64 bit systems which utilise a Geforce / TNT2 upwards GPU. I believe the latest version of the driver even supports the 6800 range.

    The driver is pretty easy to install; and the readme is well done. (i've used it on two different distros)

    Just nip over to the offical Nvidia site and take a look;)

    If you don't do anything graphically intensive and want to be discreet with your funds; i'd imagine a Geforce 3 / 4 would fill your requirements efficently.

    If you don't play games then the cheapest card available will do you just fine, as Champ has already stated Nvidia's drivers are good for Linux - what ever you do don't touch ATI as their Linux drivers are always well behind the curve.
