Ive another small problem now.I have files saved on a cd that I needed before I formatted my pc but I didnt save the program I used to write them which was word perfect. Now when I try and open them in word pad etc the writing comes up as crazy symbols?

Is there a way to convert these files so they open properly in a different program? Thanks again.

Try opening it up in microsoft word, it usually can accept a lot of different types of documents and will offer to convert it for you.

    1: Deselect all files.
2: Hold Shift and Right click on file in question
    3: Select "Open With..."
    4: Select new program

    :)

If you press <shift> while right-clicking you'll see the open with as an option, even on Win98.
